Does Lukuma lingerie contain PFAS?
Lukuma does not use PFAS and our products do not contain PFAs. PFAS stands for per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances and include (PFOS and PFOA). These manufactured chemicals are fluorinated compounds and used in a variety of products including stain resistant upholstery, non-stick cookware, paints, cosmetics, food packaging and more.
Lukuma does not design products that require the functionality of PFAs or any dangerous chemicals. According to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, our fabrics meet the human-ecological requirements. OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 is one of the world's best-known labels for textiles tested for harmful substances. It stands for customer confidence and high product safety. How do I know which size to order?
When
choosing Lukuma lingerie we highly recommend ordering your normal size. You can
find our recommendations for every style in the details. In some styles you
might have to size up or down.
Is Bamboo Fiber good for clothing?

How do I wash my Lukuma?
Rinse them in cold water. Throw them in with the rest of your laundry on a delicate cycle. DONT use bleach or fabric softener.You can Hand wash to preserve elasticity.Hang them in a non Humid Enviroment. No ironing please.
How long can I wear Lukuma Lingerie?
Every flow is different! You can wear period-absorbing lingerie for as long as your flow will allow. Our lingerie can holding up to 4 kind of flows. You can tell your lingerie is full if you start feeling wet. Maximum 24 hours.
How many lingerie should you get?
We
recommend starting with 3-5 pairs. Depending always on your flow. You can find
offers in our site so don't worry!
Can i wear pads and tampons with Lukuma lingerie?
If you feel more safe of course you can! But our Lukuma lingerie can be a total replacement for disposable products.
How many times can be washed and used?
Lukuma lingerie last around 2 years, if washed and cared propertly. You can find out instruction in every product page.
Will it smell?
Our underwear are made from 95% cotton , so they have a natural odour-resistant properties . Our main fabric used is bamboo fiber , which has a natural antibacterial effect. So it is natural and safe for the human body. As long as they are cared for correctly, your Lukuma lingerie will minimise odour.
As with all blood, there may be a metallic smell you notice when you go to the toilet but no different to a disposable pad or other period protection. They start to smell if you have worn them too long or not changed them frequently enough for your flow.

How long can I wear Lukuma's swimwear?
As long as your flow allows you. Wearing them alongside a tampon or menstrual cup on a heavy flow day will allow you to wear them for as long as you’re able to wear the tampon or period cup you have in.
To stay hygienic and leak-free: Make sure to change as soon as you can after you finish swimming so you won't sit around in them all day.
Does Lukuma's period swimwear really work?
Yes! Period swimsuits will absorb period blood. But it can also absorb sweat or light bladder leaks. So if you suffer from urinary incontinence this is a great product to give you back some freedom and confidence.
How does period swimwear absorb blood but not water?
There is a layer in the period swimwear that absorbs your period when you’re in the water. When you bleed, the layer will absorb your period blood. The leak-proof layer of the gusset is water resistant and keeps the blood inside, so you don’t have to worry about leaking.

If you’re on a heavy day, you can use them as an extra protection from leaks with a tampon or a menstrual cup.
Can I swim while I'm bleeding?
Yes of course! Our swimwear is designed to be used alone on your light days or as an extra layer of protection if needed. Our swimwear holds the same as 1-2 regular tampons.
Will people know I'm wearing period swimwear?
No! Our swimwear does not have a bulky layer and no one will be able to tell the difference.
